Tim Matheson is a clinical psychologist who has been employed at San Francisco Department of Public Health for the past 18 years. Tim has a BA from the University of Denver, MS in clinical psychology from SF State University, and a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from the Center for Psychological Studies. Tim was previously employed at New Leaf Community Mental Health Clinic providing therapeutic services to individuals, couples, and groups.
Tim works on and supports interventionists working on NIH and CDC-funded national and local research projects related to substance use, linking HIV and/or HCV out-of-care patients into care, increasing HIV/HCV testing in opioid treatment programs, and increasing PrEP uptake and adherence. Winter, Spring, Summer, Fall, Tim can be found outdoors engaged in some physical activity: hiking, backpacking, camping, bicycling, kayaking, paddle-boarding, rafting, downhill and x-country skiing, snowshoeing, ice skating, sledding, etc.
